FOOD. FLAVOR. STORIES.

Meet Mike Ruotolo

I’ve always believed food is more than what’s on the plate. It’s the stories, the memories, and the people gathered around the table that make a meal special.

Cooking has been my way of bringing people together and sharing a little piece of myself with family and friends. Whether it’s a simple weeknight meal, a family gathering, or cooking for friends, I love creating food that makes people feel at home.

My inspiration comes from my Grandma Josie, who came from Naples at 16 and became the culinary heart of our family. Her recipes, traditions, and love for feeding people shaped the way I cook today. Along the way, I’ve collected lessons from family, church cookbooks, newspaper clippings, and that well-worn copy of The Joy of Cooking my mom gave me when I was 22.

Here you won’t find shortcuts or kitchen gimmicks. I believe great food is worth the time, the effort, and yes, sometimes a few extra dishes. From classic Italian recipes to my own twists, my goal is simple: share food that brings people together.

If you’re hungry, grab a seat because The Kitchen’s Open!

Because, as Grandma Josie always said… “If it goes in your belly, it’s got to be good.”
